Welcome to an unmissable event celebrating theliving essence of Italy's "inland areas"-the Happennino Festival. This extraordinary event, now in its sixth edition, will take place between Sept. 22 and 24 in the picturesque towns of Sant'Angelo in Vado, Mercatello sul Metauro, Borgo Pace, Piobbico and Peglio, located in theenchanting Marche Apennines, between Pesaro and Urbino.

Discovering the Undiscovered Lands

The Apennines, the backbone of Italy, is a vibrant land, pulsing with energy and creativity, and here unique and innovative projects are born and developed. Happennino - Inland Festival was conceived six years ago with the aim of shedding light on this region and its extraordinary cultural heritage.

Against the backdrop of the imposing mountains of the Alpe della Luna and Mount Nero, Happennino prepares to enchant and narrate the area through a eclectic program which embraces different facets of life in inland areas.

A Weekend Full of Extraordinary Events.

Friday, September 22, at 9 p.m., the festival will kick off in Mercatello sul Metauro with a reading show led by Guido Catalano, based on his latest literary work, "Stop Smoking by Kissing." In the picturesque cobbled lanes and among the old houses of the village, the poet and writer from Turin will lead us through his poems, ready to surprise, amuse and stimulate deep reflections.

Saturday, September 23, the Festival will move to Peglio, offering a splendid 360-degree view of the surrounding countryside. At the Torre del Girone, at 10 a.m., Pesaro 2024 - Capital of Culture - will present itself with Mayor Matteo Ricci, the deputy mayor and councillor for beauty Daniele Vimini and Silvano Straccini, general director of the Pescheria Foundation - Visual Arts Center, to present the project "50X50 Capitals Squared".

A collaborative moment that unites the mayors of municipalities in the province and promises to bring forward innovative synergies for the future.

States General of the Apennines, a unique opportunity to discover the stories, theproject and the best practices of those who have chosen to live and realize their dreams in inland areas. This edition's guests include Atelier Poem, Belfortissimi, Ca' Romanino, Il Gentil Verde, MappeLab, Rebel House, Tales of Urbino and Urbino Teatro Urbano, local realities that are charting new paths and alternatives to common stereotypes about inland areas.

The day will end with an engaging DJ set by the Marangana Disco Project.

Sunday, September 24: Discovering Nature

Sunday's day begins with an adventure into the wilderness of Mount Nero, one of the hidden gems of the Apennines between Pesaro and Urbino. At 9 a.m., a trek led by naturalist and youtuber Willy Guasti, founder of Zoosparkle, offers the opportunity to explore zoology, paleontology and evolution in the company of an experienced and passionate guide.

At 3:30 p.m., the AulaVerde in Borgo Pace-where the Meta and Auro rivers join to form the Metauro River-will be the stage for a literary meeting between Maria Antonietta, singer-songwriter, writer and TV presenter on Sky Arte, and the magazine Il Bestiario . Together, they will take us on a deep reflection on the meaning of local communities, squares, bell towers, and ancient Italy-authentic, popular, rural, nonconformist, and artisan.

The day will culminate at sunset at the Domus del Mito Archaeological Area in Sant'Angelo in Vado, where Giorgio Poi will perform an exclusive duo concert. Giorgio Poi is one of the leading figures on the Italian indie scene, whose latest album has garnered considerable critical acclaim and led to collaborations with renowned Italian artists. Local collective L'Alba Movement will open.
